So my parents came back from the Cancer Institute on Saturday. The news was not good. We found out that the doctor's there don't even know anything about this type of tumor. How in the world did my dad get this 1 in a million type of tumor where chemo/radiation doesn't even have an effect on it? We also found out that the body scan he had done here in Utah, showed tumors spread out through his entire body. They are small and slow growing, but they are still there. There are two bigger ones, one in his upper arm, and the other in his hip. The one in his hip is getting very painful. He limps everywhere he walks, and is getting put on a pain patch till he can get his surgery scheduled to get it removed. We were told that the AZ doctor's are going to send his biopsy to some NY specialists, and those doctors are going to test his biopsy on every type of chemo available. We are all praying that one of them take to the biopsy. Other than that, he met with a homeopathic doctor to discuss natural treatments, such as herbs. His attitude is good. He says it is his stubborn Swedish nature to not give in. But at the same time, he wants to prepare everything for my mom for when/if he isn't around anymore. That is hard, but if it is how he is coping, then what can we say. They are also contemplating on moving back up to MN. Dad's passion has always been farming. It makes him happy. I guess we will see how he is after his hip surgery. I will try to keep updates on here of his progress through this. Thank you everyone for your support and prayers. They really have helped us out a lot.
